TAPROGGE PR-BW 800-C High-Performance Cooling Water Debris Filter
A compact high-performance filter designed to maximise efficiency
The PR-BW 800, which has been tried and tested in the field for many years, has been developed to include the PR-BW 800-C version. It is designed to handle from low to medium-sized volumetric flows of up to 12,000 m³/h and safely removes a wide range of macrofouling substances from the cooling water flow. Condensers, plate heat exchangers and other loads connected downstream are reliably protected from macrofouling. In addition to their use in power stations, this model series can also be used in various other industrial applications.

Features and Benefits
When developing this version, we focussed on optimising compactness and efficiency for low to medium-sized volumetric flows whilst retaining all the benefits of the tried-and-trusted PR-BW 800 high-performance filter.
Pressure-relieved backwash using a multiple chamber system and a selection of filter surfaces, which are determined by the types of fouling encountered on each customer site (filter fineness range of 2 mm and larger), ensure that backwash is carried out in a highly efficient way without any residues, whilst also delivering exceptionally high straining performance (up to 1.9 litres of fouling per m³ of cooling water).
The direction of rotation automatically changes in one of the filter chambers when there are obstructions which ensures the system will always run smoothly.
The short overall length (L/D ~ 1) of the PR-BW 800-C opens up flexible installation options in locations where it was previously not possible to install cooling water filters due to space restrictions.
By standardising the components and optimising the manufacturing processes, we have not just managed to reduce delivery times compared with other filter types, we have also achieved considerable cost savings which significantly reduces investment amortisation periods. A low volume of debris discharge water, lower pressure losses and less drive power keep operating costs low.
The filter is set up ready for the FilterOptimizer to be installed; this is an intelligent tool which optimises the backwash point.
