Standard cleaning ball with polishing agent admix

Application:

for stainless-steel, titanium, brass and copper tubes (particularly when the cooling surfaces are prone to develop surface roughness)

Cleaning frequency:

for stainless-steel and titanium tubes: 12 balls/hour and tube

for copper and brass tubes:

  • in fresh water (< 1,000 µS/cm): 12 balls/hour and tube
  • in brackish water (> 1,000 to < 10,000 µS/cm):
    examination required
  • in sea water without FeSO4 dosage:

Due to the greater level of surface contact, the Type T corundum cleaning balls clean the tubes faster and more evenly that Type R. By contrast, Type R balls are recommended for harder deposits due to their greater contact pressure. Use of corundum balls with stainless steel and titanium tubes is harmless with regard to material erosion and tube corrosion. The microscopic scoring resulting thereof is smaller than the scoring originating from the manufacture of the tubes themselves. With regard to copper alloy tubes, please consider the aspects of protective film formation in the tubes.

Special features:

The T300 ball has a lower sinking velocity than the T160 ball and is used as an additive to optimise distribution of the balls in the evaporator.
