Brine Concentration in Electrolysis
Extracting wastewater from chlorine-alkali electrolysis
In plastics manufacturing, sodium hydroxide and chlorine are produced from a saturated sodium chloride solution using the chlorine-alkali electrolysis process. The NaCI wastewater which is subsequently produced can (under certain conditions) be used again in the production process by being concentrated once again. This means that the water-NaCI cycle can be almost completely closed.
